Your answers are scored by AI.
We use your words for game statistics.

answers

Your game answers

Blurt sends the words you enter to our server and TypeSafe AI to get a score. This includes practice and tutorial answers.

We also save words and scores to make game statistics, including common answers and comparisons with the crowd. We may show these results in the game. The saved totals aren’t linked to your browser or IP address.

Our server also holds recently scored words to check the statistics, until they are replaced or the server restarts. The saved word totals don’t expire automatically.

Our scoring logs don’t include your words. TypeSafe AI may keep your answers under its privacy policy. Please don’t enter personal information.

browser

What your browser saves

Your browser saves your streak, the days you played, questions and answers so you can reopen your results. Clearing its data erases that history. We don’t save your personal game history on our server.

If you share a result picture, it can include your words.

analytics

Understanding how people play

We use PostHog’s US service to count visits and see how the game is used. We measure which pages people visit, which websites send them here, visits from shared links, country, browser and device details, progress through tutorials and rounds, word counts, round results, timing, streaks and days played, sharing actions, slow scoring and errors. Sharing actions don’t tell us whether anyone received a share.

We don’t send your words to PostHog. We leave out error messages, detailed error traces and the parts of page addresses after ? or #. We don’t record your screen or sessions, automatically track every click or create named player profiles.

PostHog estimates visitor numbers from request information. Our setup doesn’t use cookies or store a lasting tracking ID in your browser.

We record your country, without asking for your precise location. PostHog still receives your IP address when your browser connects to it. Read more about PostHog’s privacy practices.

You can turn off PostHog below. The change applies to pages you load from then on. We also skip PostHog when your browser has Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control enabled. This doesn’t stop game statistics, scoring or hosting logs.

hosting

Running the site

Our hosting providers receive connection information, including your IP address, to run and protect the site. They may keep service and security logs. We also temporarily count requests by IP address to limit abuse, separately from word statistics.

bug reports

When you report a bug

If you send a bug report from the menu, we receive what you wrote, the page and screen you were on, the date, your browser and device, your screen size, recent technical error codes and the site’s version. Your typed answers aren’t included unless you write them in the report.

Reports go through our server to PostHog in its US region, and are kept with our analytics so we can find and fix what went wrong. If analytics is running in your browser, the report is linked to this visit’s analytics. Our server logs never contain what you wrote.
